No Me Olvides Panama

 

We recently visited Adam's family in Panama. We planned our trip to attend Nick's homecoming; he recently returned home from a mission to Denmark. It was so much fun to see them and to visit where we got married last year.

The Panama City skyline is so beautiful. I could take pictures of it all day. I limited myself to sharing the following two one from Costco Antiguo and one from Cerro Ancon:

We enjoyed sharing our visit to Panama with some of our friends. We had great fish tacos at the fish market. Apparently that's the restaurant's name and it's not the actual fish market that we searched first.

We took a trip to San Blas. I hadn't been there since I was a missionary. So much had changed in those 4 years. Many of the houses have satellites and there are so many more boats that will take you to the islands and those boats all have life jackets.

 The elephant-looking object in the water is a sunken ship. We enjoyed snorkeling around the ship.

Portobelo was the main port where Spain shipped the majority of the gold they 'recovered' from the new world.  Today it's a small town with a beautiful bay that goes out into the Caribbean sea.  There are the ruins of several of the forts used to defend against pirates and an old church.

Adam's parents had told us that visiting the Embera village was their favorite thing. We loved the boat ride to the waterfall and village. It was our favorite as well.

Catching Up

It's been really busy for us these past few weeks and I haven't posted anything in a while. I have been doing some traveling for work and have been gone a lot. I went to Denver a few weeks ago. It was great, but very busy. I did manage to meet a friend downtown for lunch and to stop by the Denver temple while there. After driving all over Denver, it's been added to my list of cities I'd love to live in. It's so well laid out with parks everywhere and incredible views of the mountains.

We have been loving the summer weather. We took a drive up the Nebo Loop today. The mountains were so green and the wildflowers were in bloom. It was a perfect Sunday drive. 

Yellowstone

We took a trip with my brother, sister, and brother-in-law to Yellowstone. Geysers have become a family joke so the trip was very fitting. When we were little, our mom explained that geysers are hot water that shoot up into the air. One of us asked if they could shoot up anywhere and she replied that potentially they could pop up in a place that they hadn't been before. We took that to mean that a geyser could pop up in house and burn us. Despite our moms best efforts to assure us that a geyser was not going to shoot up in our home, we were convinced that it could happen at any time. We were so scared of geysers that we all slept together in the same bed in case one shot up during the night.
